Alzheimers is going to be the most treatening disease for our society. When people get older gradually before they die, the chances of suffering from Alzheimers disease are rapidly growing. You just have to visit a elderly home to know what I mean… Ah, the burden of aging. You know folks wouldn’t dread getting older so much if it didn’t include the deterioration of the body. That’s the whole bummer aspect. Acquiring oodles of knowledge is the wonderful part we all can live with. So if we could just find a way to keep our bodies like they were at age 25, we’d be good to go. Then again, we’d all be living for ever if this were the case. And clearly there’s not enough room on this planet for that. Maybe if we could just obliterate the mind disorders, so we can live our 75-90 years to the fullest. That would be a great start in my humble opinion. Because as many of us already know, new-age Alzheimers drugs just aren’t doing the trick for everyone.

What are your chances of acquiring Alzheimers? Well, once you’ve hit the ripe old age of 85, your chances are about 50/50. That’s horrible! It’s basically a coin toss. There’s got to be a better way of steering clear of this atrocious mind disorder. So far I’ve know two individuals who’ve had it. One was my grandmother, and the other is my wife’s grandmother. With my grandmother, the Alzheimers drugs were useless. From what I know, the illness was simply too far advanced for medication to work effectively. She rarely remembered me. Then with my wife’s grandmother it was a bit different. She is still alive and kicking at the age of 84. Unfortunately her condition grows worse as time moves forward. Last year when my wife and her mother went to visit the old woman in Germany, the Alzheimers drugs apparently wore off, because things got hairy. They were all sleeping in the grandmother’s home when she suddenly jumped out of bed and started ranting. She thought her daughter and my wife were communists or something rather. She was suddenly acting like she was in WWII. This was incredibly discouraging for her daughter, so they decided to cut the trip short.

Like any treatments, Alzheimers drugs are improving as times passes. There will constantly be new break-throughs and better medications. Hopefully by the times you hit that ripe golden age, there will be a cure for this relentless illness. But until then, somewhat effective Alzheimers drugs are all we have.
